Artwork Description: This work explores rupture, erosion, and the moment where surface gives way to depth. Layers of paint are built, scraped, and broken open, revealing a dark core that suggests absence, grief, or the unknown. The textured edge around this void feels geological—like something worn away over time rather than violently removed. Vibrant greens, magentas, and bruised purples push against the darkness, creating tension between vitality and collapse. Drips and scars are left exposed as evidence of process and pressure. The piece invites the viewer to sit with what has been lost, uncovered, or can no longer be contained.
My name is Leanne Pagliaro and I am a Melbourne based artist. Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved to create. Art is a passion of mine that I discovered ten years ago. Through much experimentation and dedication, it has helped me develop into the artist I am today. I have done many workshops to further my skills and I attend life drawings classes on a regular basis.
I try to harness a vast diversity within my art. My hope is that my viewers will connect with my art on a deep and personal level. I love experimenting with different mediums and techniques. I don’t want to be boxed into specific genre. I love to offer honest, meaningful and often very raw art, that has come from a very personal part of my imagination. It has been described as alternative contemporary art, that occasionally fringes on the weird, macabre and beautiful.
