Artwork Description: The title G.O.A.T. has dual meaning. Firstly, Audrey’s grandparents farmed a herd of goats which helped with rearing 13 kids, therefore goats served as a very significant part of their lives to sustain them all. Secondly, the G.O.A.T. acronym means Greatest Of All Time and in Audrey’s eyes, Nanna Golina was the greatest cook of all time. Audrey fondly remembers all the moments spent in the family kitchen, watching her Nanna drink Maltese coffee from her small dining table they shared beneath the stairs.
With these nostalgic memories in mind, Audrey was inspired to use the contents of a bowl in her artwork, representing her love for Nanna's cooking as well as her love of delicate crocheting and the wonderful memories they shared. Audrey hopes that by connecting the colour blue to nostalgia, others too, can take a moment to reflect and be grateful for the memories of happy filled times, family connections, and loved ones that they cherish the most.
